I've just stuck with the hunter basically, due to some of his skills I've ended up with critical hits doing 30% more damage as well as melee doing 50% more damage and occasionally doing 500% extra damage with killer strikes, add to that than a revolver I found with a blade on it that adds 200% melee damage as well as 150% damage on criticals and I've found I can kill just about everything with one hit and occasionally enemies explode, normally might be a problem getting close but I've found that by getting rather strong shields and a class mod that restores my health I can generally survive, and of course for the long range encounters I always rely on a jakobs sniper rifle. ( I left out the weapon proficiency damage additions) man I feel like a huge nerd of some sort having ranted about that.

I saw this game in HMV the other day and was really tempted to try it. Does anyone reccommend getting it? I've already bought that old Chronicles Of Riddick game though, so I won't have the money anytime in the next few weeks.

well I recommend getting it but only if you (as seems likely) have real life friends to play it with, I mean the game's fine single player but it's just great multiplayer, and playing with complete strangers is not nearly as good as with friends.

Rented this for PS3 and am seriously considering buying it- single-player is pretty fun, but the online is spectacular. It has this emphasis on working together; not 'tactically', per se, you don't need a master plan for every enemy you encounter, but more like that 'hey let's dick around and shove an RPG launcher up a Skag's butt' feeling. You don't need to be entirely serious and you can still have a lot of fun without the place exploding into utter chaos. Slightly reminiscent of fooling around on L4D. But, I was playing with strangers online; obviously still fun, though not as fun as playing with friends. I do know a good couple of people at school with PS3s as well, but I'm not sure how many of them would be able to get their hands on Borderlands and hook up with me on PSN, so I might tentatively hold off on buying it :?

I bought Chronicles Of Riddick: Assault On Dark Athena for the XBox 360 and it came with the Escape From Butcher Bay campaign, which I'm currently playing. I have to say this game completely fucking blows my mind as far as movie-game adaptations go. How did they make such a fantastic game from a movie?

The problem with Borderlands is that there's no defined loot system. So if you kill Skag A, you aren't gauranteed the loot from Skag A because any schmuck with a faster button finger can pick it up before you can. Trading items also requries a bit of the honor system, since there's no trade system, you pretty much have to drop the item from the inventory and hope that someone doesn't just run up and snag it before the person you were trying to give it to does. Really though, so much swag drops that you don't have to worry about it too much as long as you find some good people to play with.

my problem with borderlands was the ending, huge disappointment to me. in other news the entire rest of the game is good, though the story itself is a bit short, there are plenty of side missions for you to do. and I love the weapons, serious lack of eridian weapons though.

You don't start seeing Eridian weapon drops until the second playthrough.

Recently nabbed this game in a clan 4-pack. We'll be testing it out later this evening.
After reading about the PC version's terrible networking, [1] it's reassuring to see some positive feedback on it.

Good to see you again, Grayswandir. Is that Tokyo Akazukin I see there?
